Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed a warning and a concern for Long Island as the coronavirus case rate continues to increase each day.
“The rest of New York has been fairly constant, 4% or 5%,” Cuomo said Saturday morning. “Long Island is the area that is growing.” Cuomo said while the percentage of cases within New York City cases are actually dropping, Long Island is going from “16% to 17%, to 19% to 22%.”

Between Nassau and Suffolk counties, Long Island now has more than 22,000 cases of COVID-19 as well as 231 deaths — pushing some hospitals to the brink in terms of capacity.
