Anonymous Op-Ed on the Prospect of Leaving the USA

28

I never dreamed that I would have to face the prospect of not living in the United States of America, at least not the one I have known all my life. I have never wished to live anywhere else. This is my home and I was privileged to be born here.

But today I woke up and as I had my morning coffee I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, something evil has invaded our nation, and our lives are never going to be the same. I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life so filled with hate that they will agree with opinions that if the were in their right minds they would never express as their own. It’s absolutely unbelievable. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone…..then I saw this and I think that it’s pretty close to describing how I feel.

I’m not starting a fight, but it is something to think about. This may open up a ton of outraged comments by some. Many who will argue how “wrong” this post is.

My suggestion, save your time and effort!

You’re not changing the reality of what we are living by trying to somehow justify this insanity. Nevertheless, I couldn’t resist because we are becoming the Twilight Zone. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!

• Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many legal Americans are in America.

• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.

• It was cool for Joe Biden to “blackmail” the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquires about it.

• Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.

• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.

• Inflammatory rhetoric is outrageous, but harassing people in restaurants is virtuous.

• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.

• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.

• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.

• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.

• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.

• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.

• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.

• Criminals are catch-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it’s a violation of THEIR rights.

• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us “racists”?!

Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China. We are clearly living in an upside down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right, where darkness is light and light is now darkness.

Wake up America, the great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water and sinking fast. There’s only one life boat that can save you, and that is Donald Trump. You can either get in or go down with the ship into the deep dark sea of eternal death. The choice is yours to make. What will it be? Time is short, make your choice wisely!

How safe do you feel, have you considered getting out ASAP?

  1. I hear you loud and clear, agreed!! So much hostility and ingratitude I’m hearing too.. Coming back from the market I said to myself, “another year and we’re going to Israel…” (2-3 years originally) in the meantime, TRUMP 2020, HE’S AMERICA’S LIFE RAFT…

  2. So leave the country then. And don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Trump has had no strategy to save the 150K+ who died or became mortally ill due to COVID-19. And he’s a terrible businessman who went bankrupt. Ask any of the people who worked in real estate deals with him. How you can put your faith in a President who doesn’t read, doesn’t know any history, believes conspiracy theories and re-tweets them is beyond me.

  3. Trump 2020! He’s what is standing between the America we know and love and the extreme left mob who are led by vicious anti- Anericans, anti-Semites and Israel- haters who want to burn down this country (literally).

  4. In response to the above comment against Trump, Trump has a proven record of record breaking economic heights before corona, and has successfully steered this country through a pandemic he is not responsible for. He shut down travel from China early, mass produced PPE, and thanks to Trump the US has the highest number of corona testing in the world by far. He is the greatest friend Jews and Israel have ever had in the White House. He continues to lead this country with strength and law and order. He defends Democrat cities overrun and attacked by anarchists and the leftist violent mob. America is blessed he is our President and with Hashem’s help we will have President Trump for another 4 years. PS, what’s your choice? Biden? He has dementia and is a puppet for Farrakhan, Ilhan Omar, Rashid Tlaib and other anti-America, anti-Semites, and has already promised to defund and dismantle the police and reduce aid to Israel. Wake up! This country is being assaulted by a violent mob. Trump will fight and subdue it.

  5. Why don’t we all just “wake up” and realize that Hashem may be hinting to us that the American galus is coming to an end and we should perhaps finally go back home to Eretz Yisroel! Its never been easier in our entire history!

  6. The problem is that even if Trump gets re-elected, if the senate turns Democrat then congress will overturn his vetoes and they can pass whatever legislation they want. Also, it is only pushing the situation down the road for another few years. The Republicans have no backbone and most of them are just going along

  7. I am embarrassed that our community has climbed into bed with this despicable low-life. We are not to rely on princes and Trump is certainly no prince. Where is our emunah and bitachon.
The entire world is on an environmental collision course and MUST end our addiction to fossil fuels.
Trump has undone the too few environmental laws that we have. Meanwhile frackers give their CEOs multimillion dollar bonuses and then declare bankruptcy while their wells spew methane (80 times worse for warming than carbon dioxide). They will not be cleaning up after themselves. One quarter of Bangladesh flooded yesterday right after a typhoon inundated the country. Australia and California are burning.
Greenland is melting. Please google What temperatures will be in our beloved Israel once Greenland is ice free. Covid showed anyone who paid attention that the earth can heal itself if we humans stop poisoning it. This is necessary. Please take the time to research this on reputable sights. Look up James Hansen who ran NASA and testified before Congress in 1988.

  8. I feel sad for the author of this letter. Not because of their own views, because in this country we all have the right to our views on things and to express them.

Life is not black and white but made up of a lot of grays. No one person is “right” and the other person is “wrong”. The problem with this letter is the inability (or unwillingness) to look at anyone else’s perspective on anything. It is their way or the highway. Their truth is the only truth.

That is not the America that I know. A diverse country with 330 million can only succeed if we are willing to work together to find solutions that gives everyone the feeling that they have won something.

Apart from the blatant incompetence of the Trump administration to deal with COVID-19 (based solely by our infections and death rates vs the rest of the civilized world), the biggest stain on this administration is to admonish their adversaries, to make everything a zero sum game where there are “winners” and “losers” and the losers need to have their faces rubbed into the dirt. That in conjunction with the cheapening of our discourse. Unfortunately, when you take that attitude towards those people who disagree with you, it is very easy for those people to return the favor. Thus we devolve into the pit we are in.

  9. Where will you leave to? Venezuela, Iraq, China, Russia, where will leave to? You do not leave an exceptional place, you fight to change the wrong and correct it.

  10. What is even more troubling is in the comments. To see there are still Jewish people who somehow are blind to what’s happening in the streets, and are blaming Trump for Covid. Unfortunately glaring facts are meaningless when you are infected with liberalism and Trump derangement syndrome to which there is no cure.

  11. No. It is best that we put our unbridled faith in Joe Biden who is known for his plagiarism and star studded achievements during his 40+ years service in The US Congress. Or perhaps in AOC from whom he takes orders.

  12. This Op-Ed and many of the comments that have been posted hit the nail on the head as far as identifying the problem and highlighting some (but by no means all) of the ridiculous ideas of the progressive movement. It is nothing short of remarkable how many politicians at all levels of government (and one major political party) have included this drivel in their platforms.

What is even more astonishing to my mind is how many People appear to be in line with these ideas. Equally troubling is how many people appear to have accepted as true the democratic and main-stream media’s talking point that President Trump is solely to blame for the outbreak of COVID-19 in our country.

In 2016, the President ran as a businessman and as a political outsider. He never professed any expertise in infectious diseases or in public health. Still reporters and Democrats have consistently laid the blame for each and every American death from the global pandemic at the President’s feet — faulting him for not having done enough to stop he spread of the virus in its earliest phases. This despite the fact that the top scientists and researchers have struggled, non-stop, for months to find ways to mitigate and ultimately end this pestilence — an endeavor that, despite great progress, remains unaccomplished to date.

When Japan attacked our great country in December 1941, it took us nearly four years and two atomic bombs to overcome them. No one criticized FDR for either the length of the struggle nor the high cost in lives sacrificed to bring about our victory. Yet 75 years later some now fault the president for not eliminating a worldwide pandemic (brought about by a NOVEL virus) in 6 weeks.

What I believe the polls do not show is that the vast majority of our fellow countrymen do not fault President Trump for the spread of COVID-19 — they are more rational than that. Nor do they believe any of the preposterous ideas listed in the bullet points within this Op-Ed. Although I agree with the author that we should all support President Trump, I disagree with him or her in his or her conclusion that the President is our only “lifeboat.” There is another large ship coming to the rescue of our beloved nation: The silent majority of voters who still retain their sanity. They (we) must not jump ship, but must cast our votes on November 3rd (and on every Election Day that follows) against those on the federal, state, and local levels who espouse these ludicrous “values.”

We must take our nation back from the highly vocal minority and not be discouraged by them or by the misleading polls (remember 2016!).

  13. A lot of really good points made here. I like the last comment. Much of this nonsense originates at the state and local levels. We must hold our local leaders accountable by voting for the good ones and showing the bad ones the door.

  14. “We must take our nation back from the highly vocal minority and not be discouraged by them or by the misleading polls (remember 2016!).”

he lost the popular vote. 🤷🏻‍♂️ .. I didn’t vote for hillary.. but “minority” does not equal larger vote sample.. #math

  15. Thank Goodness!!! I was afraid there might have been a political discussion where the 2016 popular vote wasn’t brought up. You’re the best, Bob.

Anyone want to bring up about Trump meeting up with a Russian prostitute?

  16. I hope that the newspaper knows who claims to have written this op-ed as it is taken verbatim from various places around the web (on facebook a user credits a Dr. Victor Hirsch but he may be an innocent bystander).

Just do a search of the line “I never dreamed that I would have to face the prospect of not living in the United States of America, at least not the one I have known all my life.” in Google. Many of the other places that posted it predate this op-ed.

  17. 5 Towns Central, stop posting political drivel, and stick to your mission of providing local news for the 5 Towns. You do a much better job when you stay away from this nonsense.

  18. I don’t get how people think whats happening to our country is ok….it is insane…..political correctness my ass Its time someone put thier dam foot down and squared off for whats right…and this virus…yea its real….but it was set in motion by hands close to home….and they aren’t done yet …there’s more to come…its crazy what WE ARE ALLOWING to happen…

  19. i love the way the libs blame Trump for the virus, but then spread it all around the country with their protests. while most of us are “sheltering at home”, they are all out ensuring we wasted our time. how many fewer deaths of no protests? we’ll never know.

  20. Maybe it’s just my opinion, but a G-d fearing Jew shouldn’t think: “I never dreamed that I would have to face the prospect of not living in the United States of America, at least not the one I have known all my life. I have never wished to live anywhere else. This is my home…..” G-d knows better than to leave us in Galus….. have faith.
