Toronto: Stephen Curry Currently Renting in Frum Community, Locals Urging Privacy

Stephen Curry, an NBA All-Star playing currently for the Golden State Warriors. Many analysts and players have called him the greatest shooter in NBA history. A six-time NBA All-Star, Curry has been named the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) twice and won three NBA championships with the Warriors.

Step’s team did not make the NBA playoffs this year, so while the NBA playoffs take place in “The Bubble” in Orlando, Steph has been spending his offseason in Toronto, Canada. This new location he’s renting by just happens to be in the heart of the Frum community.

The local community has been loving their new neighbor, often going by for a photo-op and or autograph. Initially, this was just fine, something all famous celebrities and all-stars are very much used to.

However, once word got out the visits have become a tad of a nuisance. A local Mechanech sent out the following letter to all parents, asking all to please respect the privacy of this new addition to the Toronto community:

Hi, a lot of you may have heard that there is a basketball player who is renting a house in our neighborhood. I know that some from the frum community has been passing by the house and some have even gone as far as ringing the doorbell and asking for autographs. I feel people should know that the basketball player complained today to the agent he rented the house from and he called his landlords to tell them that a huge crowd of people were disturbing his family’s privacy. This is clearly a chilul Hashem and it needs to stop before this basketball player decides to leave the neighborhood because the frum community can’t respect his privacy.

Just to note the featured image of this article was of a group of boys that happened upon Stephen while outside his home. They were not the ones who had been involved in the complaint mentioned.

Golden State Warriors’ superstar Steph Curry’s father, Dell Curry, was a professional basketball player as well, playing his final three seasons in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors. While in Toronto, Steph and his younger brother Seth would occasionally come to practice and take part in shooting games with the Raptors teams. See footage below:
