HALB to Require Children to be Masked at All Times on Campus

0

Dear Parents,

As you are well aware, there has been a significant uptick in Covid cases in our neighborhood. Baruch Hashem, the cases we have had so far on our campuses have been few in number and have been due to Covid exposure outside of our buildings. The fact that we have not seen even one case of Covid transmission from one student to another is evidence to us that our systems are working well to keep children safe.

However, due to the recent increase in cases locally, we have been advised at this time by the Nassau County Department of Health to have all of our students and staff masked at all times throughout the day. We realize that this may be difficult for some, but it is a small price to pay to keep our children safe during this time where Covid rates are high in the community. Our teachers will monitor the use of masks and will be sure to give children safe ways they can take “mask breaks”.

With the Sukkot holiday approaching, we are hopeful that if parents are careful to maintain Covid safety protocols, the rate of transmission locally will decrease and we can return to the protocols outlined in our Roadmap to Reopening posted on our website.
