The following PSA was sent out by RNSP:
Sadly, Chabad of Long Beach was vandalized, and Torah scrolls were stolen while others were damaged extensively. Some religious articles that adorn the Torah scrolls were found discarded on the beach. There are still two Torah scrolls missing.
It is believed that the Torah Scrolls were either discarded nearby or are even in the ocean. If the later is indeed true, the Torah scrolls can possibly make its way to the shore in Rockaway or even Brooklyn. To that end we are also working with the NYPD Special Operations unit in case they wash up within the confines of New York City.
We are asking anyone who may happen to come across these Torah scrolls or any of their
accompanying ornaments to call the RNSP 24/7 Hotline or the Long Beach Police detective squad (516) 705-7330.
REWARD: There is now a $2,500.00 reward for anyone who has any information that will result in the recovery of the Sifrei Torah that were stolen from @Chabad of the Beaches (in @LongBeach11561). Please call The RNSP 24/7 hotline, 516-858-7300, with any information. pic.twitter.com/whyih5VkBu
