Chabad to Host ‘Rally For Torahs’ to Bring Chizuk Following Horrific Vandalism & Burglary

The entire community is invited to join local Rabbis, elected officials and community leaders, from throughout NY to a Rally for Torahs – a ceremony of hope and strength after the burglary and vandalism of the Chabad of the Beaches at Beth El on Monday, August 30th 6:30 pm at the site of the defacement at the synagogue at 570 W Walnut St. Long Beach, NY 11561.

Days after the burglary of two precious Torah scrolls which carry an illustrious past and housed at the Beth El synagogue for many decades, the community will gather in a show of hope, strength and unity at the recently renovated facility.

After restoring and securing the Ark that was vandalized, Rabbis & community leaders will parade the remaining Torah scrolls back into the Ark, followed by words of inspiration and an energetic recommitment to forge forward with the commencement of the writing of a brand new Torah.

This is a deeply meaningful event (just days before the High Holidays), – as a Torah scribe will write the first letters of a new Torah scroll. It follows more than a week of searching by hundreds of volunteers from throughout the New York area and beyond to try to recover the two Torah scrolls.

The media will be present to cover this important event for our community. To RSVP please email [email protected]
