Meet Estee Ackerman, a top nationally-ranked PingPong player from West Hempstead!
Estee was well on her way to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but chose not to compete due to the trial tournament falling on Shabbos. Undeterred, Estee continues to compete in tournaments all around the world and has set her sights on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin invited the ping pong ace to Town Hall to commend her for her dedication to the sport and to her beliefs. What’s more, the two announced upcoming table tennis clinics for Hempstead residents that will be hosted by Estee herself. Dates and registration information will be available at a later date on hempsteadny.gov.
