Two Jewish men were physically attacked yesterday. One of the victims was wearing an IDF sweatshirt prompting the attacker to call them “dirty Jews”. The incident occurred near Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, inside of a Foot Locker store. The two attackers also yelled at the two teens, “What are you doing in our neighborhood? – you don’t belong here!”
One of the men punched Zavadsky twice in the face and poured ice coffee on him for sporting the IDF sweatshirt and for not taking his sweatshirt off.
The NYPD says the assault is being investigated as a hate crime.
Councilwoman Inna Vernikov was furious when she received the call from the mothers of the victims who had been attacked. See her statement and hear the first hand account from the boys below.

This antisemitic violence is outrageous!
We can’t tolerate Jews being violently attacked & told they’re “in the wrong neighborhood” in NYC!
Thankful to Councilwoman @InnaVernikov for bringing this case forward.
I hope @NYPDHateCrimes will find/arrest the criminals immediately. https://t.co/xJd1qEoFHS

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday tweeted that the state police Hate Crimes Task Force was assisting in the probe and was “ready to offer additional support.”
“This is abhorrent and unacceptable,” Hochul said. “Antisemitism & all hate has no home in New York.”
