NCPD to Increase Patrol In The Area Over Holiday Weekend

Commissioner of Police Patrick J. Ryder announces the NCPD’s increased enforcement of Vehicle & Traffic Laws on Nassau Roads to keep local travelers safe. Officers will be at High Accident Frequency Locations (HAFL’s) to ensure motorists are adhering to traffic laws.

Through the department’s social media sites, they will announce the locations and dates to be enforced prior to and subsequent enforcement efforts will be published.

The police department will also announce the “Stop DWI Program” for the New Year’s Eve holiday. The goal of these programs is to increase safety in an effort to reduce serious injuries and deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents in Nassau County.

The NCPD will hold a press conference this morning (Wednesday, December 29), at 11:00 am. The conference will be stationed at the Nassau County Police Department Headquarters (1490 Franklin Avenue, Mineola). Members of the force including the commissioner will be discussing the “Safe Driver Program”. Highway patrol officers will also be available for interviews.
