R’ Moshe Hauer (OU VP) Shares Valuable Lesson

An $18 check comes in for our Ukraine rescue fund with this note: “I am a senior lady, not much money. Please help our Ukraine Jews.”

What a pure and inspiring sentiment! But that’s not the end of the story.

Recently, Rabbi Hauer (OU Executive Vice President) asked that two thank-you notes be written to two different donors to the Ukraine rescue fund. One was for a $25K donation, the other was for this $18 donation.

Rabbi Hauer felt that it was important to express our hakaras hatov (gratitude) to her personally.

Obviously, you can’t always write personal thank-you notes to every donor, but the idea of expressing gratitude as much as we can is such an important value that he was able to give over.

Mi Kiamcha Yisrael!
