On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department was alerted to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Peninsula Blvd. and Rockaway Tpke. in the North Lawrence portion of our response area.
Engine Co. 323 was first on scene and reported that they had a box truck into a storefront with no injuries. The restaurant was open and had patrons inside at the time of the accident. The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.
Crews worked to free the the truck from the building utilizing a grip hoist to check for structural damage. The scene was under the command of Chief of Department Foy and was left to the Nassau County Police Dept.
