Nassau County Police Department Detective Ryan Hines was injured while chasing a burglar who had been let out on cashless bail, only to commit another crime.
Although this injury forced him into retirement, he helped set up a fundraiser to send toys to survivors of the terrible tragedies in Buffalo and Uvalde.
In recognition of his outstanding performance in the line of duty, Nassau Executive Bruce Blakeman ceremoniously promoted him to Detective 1st Class. Nassau County salutes Detective 1st Class Ryan Hines for his dedication to our safety and way of life.
