With tremendous sadness 5TC announces the passing of one of the Gedolim of America, Hagaon R’ Shraga Feivel Cohen ZT”L. He was 85-years-old.
One of Klal Yisroel’s most prized possessions is the sefer “Badei HaShulchan” ( בדי השלחן ), a multi-volume Halachic commentary on the Shulchan Aruch, written in 1990. The Seforim include Halachos of Kashrus, Aveilus, Tzedakah, Nedarim, Niddah & others. Since the writing of the Mishna Berurah, nothing that extensive has been done in the world of Halachah until R’ Feivel Cohen’s Seforim arrived on the scene.
R’ Cohen was one of the leading poskim in America for decades, and his Psakim were well respected by all, notably by R’ Elyashiv zt”l.
The levayah will be held today at BMG, located at 617 6th Street, in Lakewood, NJ. Levaya is scheduled for 2 PM, followed by a levayah at Khal Tomchei Torah, in Flatbush.
