Today officials and a large crowd gathered outside Brooklyn’s criminal court to demand justice for Blake Zavadsky & our Jewish brothers & sisters.
“We want to see consequences! Without consequences for hate crimes, the revolving door of justice will keep spinning. Thank you to all who supported and stood with us!” said Councilwomen Inna Vernikov.
“We are grateful to the Brooklyn DA for taking this case seriously. The offer made to the Defendant on the record today was a Felony assault in the 3rd degree with a hate crime w/6 months in jail & five years probation. Defendant declined the offer, and the case is on for trial on February 14th.
