On Tuesday, a 1st alarm fire occurred at the Chimichurri restaurant at 450 Rockaway Turnpike at 3 PM.
Multiple emergency vehicles were on the scene, but B “H, crews extinguished the fire relatively quickly. Rockaway Turnpike had been closed off, leaving town while crews arrived on the scene and battled the blaze.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to investigate, according to the LCFD, and the Nassau County Dept. of Health was asked to respond due to the fire being in a good establishment.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
