In the first inning, Dominican Republic’s Eloy Jiménez ripped an RBI single to left field, plating Juan Soto for the early lead. In the third inning, Manny Machado sent a moonshot to left-center field followed by an RBI double by Ketel Marte to give the Dominican Republic a 3-0 lead. In the sixth inning, D.R. would go on to score four more runs to increase the lead to 7-0. In the 8th inning, Jean Segura hit a ground-rule double to win the ballgame via mercy rule against Israel, 10-0.
