Local Car Cleaning Service Addresses Pesach Cleaning Pricing

9

5TC contacted a local car wash service to address a recent incident. After being serviced at a car wash, a resident complained about higher Pesach cleaning rates. We contacted Mr. Ed Long, owner, and operator of Majestic Auto Spa, since 2011. We thank Ed for sharing his detailed response below. If anyone has any questions or concerns, feel free to contact your local service provider.

Ed Long:

“During the Passover season, Majestic Auto Spa strives to meet the community’s needs. To meet this demand, Majestic prides itself on spending more time, cleaning supplies, and labor to ensure cars are sufficiently cleaned for Passover. New pricing was created in 2012 to include the increased labor, supplies, and electricity to meet the community demand. During this time, VIP and Full Detail Services are suspended to allow time and space for in-depth car cleaning in the weeks leading up to Passover.

Additionally, since the Pandemic, a sanitizing treatment was added as a safety precaution for customers and employees. Majestic Auto Spa will continue to work with the community it serves to ensure quality and care with every car service.

The service includes the following:

• SIMINOZ SANITIZER AND DISINFECTANT (a $19.99 Value)

• FULL-SERVICE WASH

• AIR BLOW OUT AND VACUUM

• WASH RUBBER MATS ONLY
- ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO SHAMPOO CARPET MATS
$80.00 + tax (Passenger Vehicles Only)
$100.00 + tax (SUV and min Van)
Oversized Vehicles extra – Prices subject to the condition of the vehicle.”

Happy Passover to all!

  1. fools are made for wise man’s profit!!!
a fool and his money are soon parted!
go out on the island instead of the 5 town ripoffs

  2. What a fraudster! He’s literally admitting to discriminating based on religion! If I were a black guy would he charge me the Passover rate?? When is Bruce Blakeman gonna do anything?

  3. I don’t want to sound preachy, but to all who are complaining, there’s a simple solution. Go elsewhere. No one is forcing anyone to go anywhere. There are also teens who have time off and go to your house to clean cars. They do a great job and their prices are reasonable.

  4. You’re comparing apples to oranges.

A Pesach cleaning to get every last Cheerio is NOT the same cleaning they do for the general public. It’s not the same service. So of course it’s not the same price.

This is not discrimination based on religion. This is pricing a service to reflect the effort required. If you don’t like the price, use a Dustbuster like I do.

  5. KG Tide- Cleaning every last Cheerio is what they also do during a full service detail. That’s what detailing a car is. If they didn’t do that during a detailing, then people would complain.

  6. I have owned hand carwashs for over 20 years and there is def more work involved to clean a car for Passover!

You need to do full interior detail to get everything out of all cracks & crevices. There should be no breadcrumbs at all meaning it will take much more time than a regular full service carwash or even any services they offer. This is more of a detailed service. And 80 – 100 is not a bad price for all the extra work.

If you don’t want to pay that, you can always go get a regular full service then detail it yourself or with your kids if that’s possible. Also kids offer this service for the same price and they even come to your house.
