It is with a great sadness that we regret to inform the community of the passing of Woodmere resident Mrs. Chavi Willig Levy, Chava Itta bas Yaakov HaLevi A”H. Wife of Michael, mother of Tehilla and Ahron.

Chava Willig Levy was an award-winning author and an advocate for individuals with disabilities. As a person who got around in a motorized wheelchair, she shattered many stereotypes about people with disabilities in the workplace, the community, the classroom, and the college campus.

An internationally known motivational speaker famous for her humor, passion and compassion, Chava captivated audiences ranging in size from 50 to 3,500. Millions of people have read Chava’s articles, featured in national publications including Family Circle, Woman’s Day, McCall’s, Ladies’ Home Journal, Parents magazine, Jewish Action, and Stagebill.

Her petirah on Pesach is not a coincidence, Pesach is when we commemorate breaking our limitations and “Metzarim”, and she certainly lived that and exemplified that. Nechama and smachot to her family and friends and all that knew her.
