The IDF announced the tragic death of five more Nishamos battling in Gaza over Shabbos. This brings the grim death toll of soldiers since the ground invasion to 56 Karbanos R”L.

The IDF over Shabbos announced that they are expanding operations in the Gaza Strip, with offensives carried out by the 36th Division in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, and the 162nd Division in Jabaliya.

“The IDF is continuing and expanding its operational activities in Gaza.

Over the past day, our forces conducted activities in the Zaytun and Jabaliya areas, during which they encountered terrorists who intentionally operated from civilian areas and attacked the troops using anti-tank missiles and explosives.

Our troops eliminated numerous terrorists and struck a large number of terrorist infrastructure.”

Israeli media reports that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar & military chief Mohammed Deif have fled to Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

Glocal media report the expanding of the IDF operation to the South region as well: “U.S. military officials said their Israeli counterparts tell them to expect more weeks of clearing operations in the north before Israel prepares a separate initiative in southern Gaza, widening the offensive.”

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir says this week he will bring for initial approval in the Knesset a bill mandating the death penalty for terrorists: “I expect all members of Knesset to support this important bill” said Gvir.
