Hamas broke the ceasefire today by attacking Israeli troops. IDF forces were hit by multiple explosives and gunfire, resulting in light injuries to our soldiers. At the time, the IDF confirmed that the troops were within the agreed area and did not violate any ceasefire.
IDF: “Over the last hour, three explosive devices were detonated adjacent to IDF troops in two different locations in the northern Gaza Strip, violating the framework of the operational pause. In one of the locations, terrorists also opened fire at the troops, who responded with fire.
A number of soldiers were lightly injured during the incidents.
In both incidents, the troops were located in positions as per the framework of the operational pause.”
Hamas had negiotiated to extend the ceasefire two more days in exchange for 20 more Israeli hostages, but this viloation may result in the forfeiting of such an agreement.
Guy Azriel, of I24 News, says that despite Israel’s current priority being bringing back as many hostages as possible, it is clear the war will renew, whether tonight or at a later point.
