Tuvia Tenenbom, an acclaimed author and the son and grandson of multiple Rebbas of a large Hasidic dynasty back in Poland.
Tuvia stepped away from his religious community as a young man. Recently, at the request of his publisher, he embarked on a unique journey: to live in the deeply religious neighborhood of Mea Shearim in Jerusalem for a year and document his experiences.
Joined by his wife, Tuvia immersed himself in the vibrant life of the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community. What they discovered was both surprising and enlightening, challenging many of their preconceptions.
His new book, “Careful, Beauties Ahead! My Year with the Ultra-Orthodox,” offers a captivating glimpse into the daily lives, traditions, and humanity of this often misunderstood community. It’s a tale of rediscovery and connection, showcasing the beauty and complexity of life among the ultra-Orthodox in Israel.
