Shavuah Tov, may this be a great year for all of Klal Yisrael. May the curses end and we hope only to share Besuros Tovos this coming year.

Fallen Heroes in Southern Lebanon

Amid ongoing operations in southern Lebanon, nine Israeli soldiers have tragically lost their lives in battle R”L. These soldiers are:

  • Itai Ariel Giat HY”D, 23, from Shoham.
  • Noam Barzilay HY”D, 22, from Kochav Yair.
  • Or Mantzur HY”D, 21, from Beit Aryeh.
  • Nazar Itkin HY”D, 21, from Kiryat Ata.
  • Almken Terefe HY”D, 21, from Jerusalem.
  • Ido Broyer HY”D, 21, from Menas Ziona.

Three additional soldiers fell defending Israeli positions: two were killed by suicide drone strikes from Iranian-backed Shia militias in Iraq along the Golan Heights, and one during a firefight in Lebanon. They were:

  • Daniel Aviv Haim HY”D
  • Tal Dror HY”D
  • Ben Zion Pelach HY”D

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Hashem Zafi al-Din, widely seen as Hassan Nasrallah’s successor, may have been killed during an Israeli airstrike in the Hezbollah-controlled Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut on Thursday night. The strike, targeting this strategic Hezbollah stronghold, has intensified speculation over his fate, marking a potential blow to the group’s leadership.

In another significant military development, a full-scale IDF airstrike on Tulkarm, not merely a drone operation but an assault involving fighter jets, resulted in the elimination of 12 terrorists.

IDF Updates Defense Guidelines

In response to the evolving security situation, the IDF has updated its Home Front Command regulations. As of Saturday evening at 8:00 PM, several changes will come into effect:

  • In regions like Carmel, Wadi Ara, Menashe, Samaria, Sharon, Dan Yarkon, HaShfela, and areas near the Gaza Strip, gatherings will now be permitted to include up to 2,000 participants, doubling the previous limit of 1,000.
  • However, in certain Central Galilee communities (including Tur’an, Al-Batuf Regional Council, Jezreel Valley, and Hamaam in the Lower Galilee), activities will be reduced to partial operations to minimize risks.

Iran-Russia Collaboration Raises Concerns

In an apparent preparation for an Israeli strike, Iranian sources, as reported by Israeli media, reveal that Russia has transferred its advanced S-400 air defense system to Iran. This move underscores the deepening military cooperation between the two nations amid growing regional tensions.

Hezbollah’s Underground Network Destroyed

In a strategic victory for Israel, the Paratroopers Brigade, Yahalom Unit, and Northern Command Combat Engineering Unit, led by the 98th Division, have dismantled 250 meters of underground tunnels used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. These tunnels were part of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force infrastructure, designed to facilitate command operations, house weapon caches, and shelter combatants ahead of a planned invasion into Israel.

Although the tunnel system did not extend into Israeli territory, IDF engineering units, working closely with the Ministry of Defense, neutralized the site. Inside, soldiers discovered combat gear, living quarters, showers, kitchens, and stockpiled food—evidence of Hezbollah’s readiness for prolonged operations.

Intense Combat in Southern Lebanon

IDF troops continue their grueling operations in the rugged terrain of southern Lebanon, uncovering Hezbollah positions used for attacks on Israeli civilians. During these missions, Israeli forces captured hundreds of weapons and engaged in fierce close-quarter combat, eliminating dozens of terrorists. IDF airstrikes have also targeted additional Hezbollah positions, further crippling the group’s ability to wage war against Israel.
