Israeli special forces reportedly conducted a swift and covert operation in Lebanon on Saturday, capturing senior Hezbollah figure Emad Fadel Amhaz. The operation was carried out by approximately 20 Israeli commandos, disguised in Lebanese security uniforms, according to Al-Akhbar, a Lebanese newspaper affiliated with Hezbollah.
Al-Akhbar claimed the entire mission took only four minutes and involved the assistance of Lebanese civilians who guided the Israeli team to Amhaz’s apartment. Once inside, Lebanese security officials later discovered various items, including ten SIM cards, a mobile phone, and a foreign passport.
The Israeli team, allegedly part of the elite Shayetet 13 naval commando unit, reportedly took additional steps to erase traces of their presence. Using remote technology, they purportedly deleted security camera footage from the surrounding area to avoid detection.
The mission took place in Batroun, a coastal city in northern Lebanon, roughly 140 kilometers from Israel and about 55 kilometers north of Beirut. An Israeli official confirmed to Army Radio that Shayetet 13 commandos had landed in Batroun to carry out the operation.
This was quite the breathtaking operation!
