Multiple locations in the 5 Towns and Far Rockaway experienced such issues. Ultimately, the ballots will go through, but it will take time. Why this is happening in 2024 is absurd.

Ballots have to be scanned up to 20 times before the system reads them correctly, apparently due to an issue with ‘paper thickness’. I’ve been onsite all morning since receiving complaints, and we’re waiting for tech support from the BOE. This is of course unacceptable and ridiculous.
If you are planning to vote at this location, please still do so and have patience.”
