Donald Trump has recently made strong and powerful comments about the hostages released this shabbos, saying they were in terrible condition. He compared their appearance to Holocaust survivors, describing them as “emaciated” and in “horrible condition.” Many were shocked and horrified after seeing the pictures of the starved and tortured hostages.
Trump said, “They look like Holocaust survivors. They were emaciated.” He also expressed deep frustration with Hamas, adding, “I don’t know how much longer we can take that… at some point we’re going to lose our patience.” From watching him speak it’s clear that he’s taking this very seriously.
Trump has a long record of showing strong support for Israel and the Jews. He has played a crucial role in the release of the hostages using his tough stance against Hamas, influence and connections to make a deal happen. In just a few short weeks as president he has already taken major steps to help Israel in this war and tackle antisemitism in America. As Netanyahu said last week Trump is the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House!
