Update: The two Australian hospital employees who claimed in a video chat to have killed Israelis are under police investigation and have been banned from practicing anywhere in Australia.

When asked about the incident, the male nurse (who claimed he was a doctor) said, “It was a joke, a misunderstanding.”

A deeply disturbing video featuring two Australian nurses has gone viral and has led to a police investigation after they made despicable comments about Israeli and Jewish patients and how they treat them.

The video was filmed by Max Veifer, an Israeli English translator and tutor, who was talking to people randomly on a chat roulette website at the time. They cursed at him and told him he would “die the most disgusting death.”

In the video, a woman in scrubs says she “won’t treat” Israeli patients and even threatened to “kill them.” The man in the video, identified as Ahmad Rashad Nadir, falsely claims to be a doctor and says he has “literally sent” Israeli patients to “Jahannam” (hell). It’s absolutely shocking to hear the thing they said.

The video has caused outrage from Australian Health Minister Ryan Park, who called the remarks “deeply inappropriate and unacceptable.” “These comments made me sick to my stomach,” Park said. “I’ve directed NSW Health to start an urgent investigation and referred the matter to NSW Police.” Park also stated that if they discover anything these nurses did wrong, appropriate actions will be taken according to NSW Health policies. They have already lost their jobs, but further steps will be taken if needed. Prime minister Anthony Albanese said, “It is driven by hate, and it is disgusting. The comments are vile, the footage is sickening and it is shameful.”
