The IDF has announced the elimination of Issam Da’alis, the acting prime minister of Hamas-controlled Gaza, along with several other high-ranking members of the terror organization.

According to Hamas sources, those killed include Da’alis, who oversaw governmental operations in Gaza; Ahmad al-Khatta, the director-general of Hamas’s justice ministry; Mahmoud Abu Watfa, head of the terror group’s interior ministry, which controls its police and internal security forces; and Bahjat Abu Sultan, responsible for Hamas’s internal security apparatus.

The IDF confirmed that these four senior officials were neutralized in targeted strikes as part of a large-scale aerial assault on numerous Hamas positions across the Gaza Strip. The operation focused on eliminating key mid-level commanders, politburo members, and critical infrastructure belonging to both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The military described the strikes as a strategic effort to weaken Hamas’s operational and governmental capabilities while eliminating threats to Israel and its citizens.

Da’alis had taken over as Hamas’s de-facto prime minister after Israel eliminated his predecessor, Rawhi Mushtaha, in July 2024. The IDF stated that Da’alis was responsible for managing Hamas’s governing operations in Gaza and coordinating its various factions.

The military also confirmed that al-Khatta, Abu Watfa, and Abu Sultan were killed in the strikes.
