Two Suspects Arrested for Shoplifting in Lawrence; Turned Over to ICE Due to Outstanding Warrants

Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of two individuals for a petit larceny incident that occurred on Monday, April 14th, at 12:46 p.m. in Lawrence.

According to detectives, officers responded to a store on Rockaway Turnpike after two male suspects were observed concealing merchandise and attempting to leave without paying. Both fled the scene before officers arrived.

A short time later, the suspects were located behind a nearby building on Rockaway Turnpike and taken into custody.

Both individuals were charged with petit larceny and issued appearance tickets for First District Court in Hempstead, returnable on May 9, 2025.

Further investigation revealed that both had outstanding Warrants of Removal with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and were subsequently turned over to their custody.
