NATIONAL NIGHT OUT<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n County Executive Laura Curran and Police Commissioner Patrick J. Ryder announce that the Nassau County Police Department will be participating in the \u201c37th Annual National Night Out\u201d a unique crime\/drug prevention event.<\/p>\n NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n When: Tuesday, August 3, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Where: See the below list of events, locations and times<\/strong><\/p>\n National Night Out Events Scheduled for Nassau County<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n 1st<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Cow Meadow Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Freeport, 5:00-8:00 PM. Legislator Debra Mule will be participating in the event. Crime prevention and recruitment literature will be available.<\/p>\n Virtual Knockout Showcase<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Sponsored by Legislator Kevan Abrahams this\u00a0virtual<\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0event will run from 7:00 \u2013 8:45 PM. Watch Live on Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams Facebook Live & YouTube Live. Featuring family fun, crime prevention awareness, games, prizes, etc.<\/p>\n 1st<\/sup>\u00a0& 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Veterans Memorial Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 East Meadow & Prospect Avenues, East Meadow, 6:00-9:00 PM. Hosted by Legislator Tom McKevitt, Council of East Meadow Community Organizations (CEMCO) & Crime Watch Project Director Norma Gonsalves. Event is geared toward child safety, bicycle safety and will include a candlelight vigil.<\/p>\n 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Broadway Mall<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Hicksville, in rear parking lot next to Police Annex, 6:00-8:00 PM. Broadway Mall and Home Depot have partnered with Legislators Arnold Drucker, Rose Walker, Laura Schaefer and Joshua Lafazan for this year\u2019s event which features entertainment for children, family activities and giveaways. Officers will educate attendees on use of Smart 911, senior scams, and best burglary & larceny prevention tactics.<\/p>\n 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Martin \u201cBunky\u201d Reid Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Broadway Ave, Westbury, 5:00-8:30 PM. This New Cassel\/Westbury event starts with a parade, which will assemble at the Westbury Salvation Army, 992 Prospect Avenue at 5:00 PM and begin to march at 5:30 PM. The parade will end at the entrance to the park where a fair with entertainment and vendors will take place at 6:00 PM. Legislator Siela Bynoe and the Town of North Hempstead are participating in the event.<\/p>\n Kelleher Field<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Williston Park, 7:00-9:00 PM. A Children\u2019s Ride for a Safer Williston Park Parade will assemble at Broad and Amherst Streets and begin at 7:00 PM. The parade concludes at Kelleher Field where a Neighborhood Watch Block Captain\u2019s meeting will take place at 7:30 PM followed by NNO festivities.<\/p>\n 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Cedarhurst Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 located at Cedarhurst and Summit Avenues, Cedarhurst, 6:00-10:00 PM. Crime prevention literature will be distributed and 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Precinct Problem Oriented Police Officers as well as Nassau County Police Auxiliary will be present to answer questions.<\/p>\n Oceanside Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 located at 3800 Mahlon Brower Drive, Oceanside, 4:00-6:00 PM.<\/p>\n 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct. POP Officers will be available interact with the community and distribute crime prevention literature.<\/p>\n 5th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Chestnut Street School<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 located in West Hempstead, 4:00-7:00 PM. The event will be the Summer Food Distribution event held in conjunction with the West Hempstead School District Administration. Members of the 5th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct. POP and ART Units will be in attendance to interact with the public, answer questions and hand out literature and giveaways.<\/p>\n 6th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Whitney Pond Park<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 133 Valley Road, Manhasset, 4:00-8:00 PM. The event will include arts & crafts, children\u2019s safety awareness, children\u2019s fire safety house, ice cream truck and food vendors. Pets will be available for adoption from North Shore Animal League. Manhasset Coalition Against Substance Abuse will be present to answer any questions and crime prevention literature will be available to the public.<\/p>\n 7th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Tobay Beach<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Massapequa, 5:00-8:00 PM. Held in conjunction with “Music Under the Stars\u201d which begins at 8:00 PM. Free concert and fireworks display. Residents will have an opportunity to speak with their local precinct personnel and receive crime prevention tips prior to the start of the concert.<\/p>\n 8th<\/sup>\u00a0Pct.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0John F. Kennedy Middle School<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 500 Broadway, Bethpage, 6:30-9:00 PM. Legislators Rose Walker & Laura Schaefer are sponsoring the event. Festivities include Music by Wired Up, Teddy Bear Clinic sponsored by St. Joseph Hospital, Fire Safety Trailer sponsored by Bethpage Fire Dept., Distracted Driving simulator sponsored by Bethpage Kiwanis.
