An extremely tragic story is emerging from Israel as reports that Adina Zahavi a”h, mother of nine children, perished in a fire R”L in her home on Motzei Shabbos in the yishuv Kochav Yaakov. After heroically rescuing her children alongside her husband, she was rushed to the hospital due to severe smoke inhalation and was nifteres.
Adina grew up in Oceanside and attended HALB High School. She made aliyah 20 years ago and married her husband Aryeh in Eretz Yisrael, raising her beautiful family there.
18 other people including 12 children were injured in the serious blaze, with investigators sharing that the cause of the fire was a malfunction in an electric bicycle that was charging near their couch. Their home was completely destroyed.
