5 Towns COVID19 Cases by Town: Week of April 26th

The spread of the new coronavirus has slowed in New York, including on Long Island. Nassau County though has more cases than almost anywhere else in the state as reported by Patch News.

As of Sunday morning, there were 33,798 confirmed coronavirus cases in Nassau County and 1,558 Related deaths.


5 Towns Case for the week of Sunday Morning, April 26th

Cedarhurst – 144
Inwood – 258
Woodmere – 495
Hewlett – 159
Woodsburgh – 19
Lawrence – 214

This in comparison to Hempstead which has the most positive cases in Nassau with a total of 1683. Freeport was next on the list with 1,198. Elmont is 3rd with 1,016.

As previously reported on 5TC [See the Previous Update by Town Here] about 2 weeks ago in Nassau there were 20k positive cases of the coronavirus in Nassau County, and 633 deaths.

Here was the number of cases for each community back on April 11th in order to determine per town if the number of cases has increased or decreased:

Woodmere-310 [Up]

Cedarhurst- 97 [Down]
Hewlett-91 [Down]

  1. It would be useful to know what percent of total population each of these represents. 100 cases out of a population of 1000 is different from 100 out of 100000.
