Mayor-elect Eric Adams will delay his public inauguration ceremony by several hours on Saturday, Jan.1 to accommodate his Jewish supporters, The Forward reported.
Generally the inauguration takes place by day, but since Jan. 1 falls out on a Saturday it will be pushed off till night fall in order to accommodate Orthodox Jews who would otherwise be unable to attend.
Adams said that his Jan. 1st swearing-in ceremony will be held at Kings Theatre in Flatbush rather than at City Hill as per tradition so that he can become mayor in a diverse setting.
Jews around the world gave the Mayor-Elect a standing ovation in appreciation of his very considerate and thoughtful decision.

Incredible! @ericadamsfornyc is delaying his inauguration until after dark on Jan. 1 because he wants Sabbath-observant Jewish New Yorkers to be able to participate. What a mensch!
