HY”D: Terror Attack in Jerusalem, Two Murdered R”L & Others Wounded

At around 1:27 pm Israeli time, a car driver was speeding towards the Golda Meir-Mintz intersection at the exit from the Ramot neighborhood in the direction of Givat Ze’ev, and rammed innocent people who were waiting at the bus station. As a result, two people were tragically murdered, and another five were injured in different degrees of injury (according to medical officials), among them critically injured.

Police forces of the Jerusalem District, including a detective who was off duty, arrived quickly at the scene and fired at the terrorist, who was neutralized on the spot. The Commissioner of Police, Yaakov Shabtai, and the commander of the Jerusalem District, Superintendent Doron Turgeman, conducted a situation assessment at the scene

The terrorist has been identified as a 31-year-old from East Jerusalem (Issasiya), shot dead R”L; the suspect is an Israeli citizen.

Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem: “A 6-year-old boy and a 20-year-old Israeli have succumbed to their wounds from the ramming attack. An 8-year-old boy is still in very critical condition and is undergoing CPR in the trauma unit”.

The head of the Israeli police has arrived at the scene of the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is closely monitoring the situation.

Netanyahu has issued an order to increase the number of security forces in the affected area and launch immediate investigations and arrests of individuals associated with the terrorist.

Per Arab reports, IDF troops have already entered the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya.
