One Israeli woman told over how she was saved from the October 7th massacre.
She and her children were about to be massacred by the Hamas terrorists on the day of the massacre. She grabbed a kitchen knife and gave her children knives as well. When she looked through the peephole in the door, she saw six Hamas terrorists with guns drawn heading for her house.
At that moment she looked up to Hashem and said, “Borei Olam – Master of the world, this is not my time to die, I still have not fulfilled my Tikun on this world. “I promise you”, she continued, “that if you save me and my children, I will accept Shabbos fully until the day I leave this world”.
The moment she made that promise, she saw with her own eyes how the terrorists just completely skipped over her house.

Are we now going to start “separating” those tragically murdered from those few “spared”?
Just as after the Holocaust some big machers decided to defile those murdered in Auschwitz for not being frum enough?
They were and many were not! Stop this insulting unreasonable “reason” as a crutch to defile the murdered Jews on October 7,2023!! Don’t you think they were saying Shema and everything under the black morning while they were being cut to pieces or burned alive??? Stop the insanity!

All this article is coming to promote, is that you can be saved with a zechus of shemiras shabbos. that does not minimize the tragedy of those who had to die because of G-Ds Devine plan (of which no-one could profess to know in entirety, or with certainty). Though it is definitely reasonable (a Rambam in fact) after hearing many stories like this, that G-D would like these message to be broadcast to the public: shemrias shabbos is a zechus- a MERIT. Not that the lack of this merit, even from someone who is ignorant, is grounds for tragic death. Unfortunately, mixing these fine lines can result in loss of tremendous spiritual inspiration & growth.
B- you are right. Unfortunately people like the first (5tcactus) one gets so emotional they can’t even understand the miracle. Yes while tragic many died, kidnaped there are hundreds of miracles and we need to celebrate them also.
People like 5T cactus know one thing; Israel is out numbered by millions of enemy soldiers, billions of foreign aid to destroy it. Take your shtark bodies and mouths and go and defend it.
