Irit Lahav of Kibbutz Nir Oz recounts how she and her daughter survived the horrifying massacre on October 7th by using an oar and a vacuum cleaner hose to lock the safe house. Her safe house, among many others generally used to protect against rockets, did not have a lock.
Bichasdei Hashem Irit and her daughter were able to lock the door with the vacuum hose and boat oar. The terrorists attempted for over eight minutes to kick the door in, but due to diving intervention, they were unsuccessful.
