Presumptive Republican front-runner for governor Lee Zeldin selected a veteran female NYPD inspector as his running mate for lieutenant governor — elevating public safety as a campaign issue for the statehouse.
Zeldin tapped Alison Esposito, deputy inspector at the 70th Precinct in Brooklyn, to be his No. 2 as he seeks the nomination to take on Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Super excited to announce NYPD Deputy Inspector Alison Esposito @EspositoforNY as my running mate & NY’s next Lieutenant Governor! She understands as well as anyone how much is at stake for NY in this election. She refuses to lose, & knows as I do that losing is not an option!💪 pic.twitter.com/HeepuZc8I8
