BREAKING: Corona Confirmed In Nassau County

UPDATE: We have received confirmation of our first case of COVID-19 in Nassau County. The patient is a man in his early 40s, and he is currently hospitalized in isolation. We’re taking every step necessary to keep our residents healthy and safe. Full update at 2PM to come.


Worldwide, there have been more than 95,000 coronavirus cases, officially known as COVID-19, spanning 79 countries, according to the World Health Organization. About 3,300 people have died. In the United States, coronavirus has killed at least nine people and infected about 130 as of Thursday morning, according to the organization. No deaths have been reported in New York.

On Thursday, officials said the total in the state increased by 11 overnight due to a significant number of tests. Eight of the new cases are connected to a series of positive tests in Westchester County. On Long Island, a 42-year-old man from Nassau County was hospitalized, officials said.
