Far Rockaway Man Arrested for Multiple Larcenies in Nassau Arrested

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway Man for multiple Grand Larcenies that occurred throughout Nassau County from July 27, 2020 to August 8, 2020.

According to detectives, Fourth Precinct officers while on routine patrol did observe, Darion Torres, 23 of 215 Beech 29 Street, who was a person of interest for several Larcenies from Autos in the area. The defendant was stopped on Westwood Road.

After an investigation it was determined that the defendant was in possession of a stolen laptop computer and a green colored vaporizing device containing a substance believed to be THC, 26 wax paper envelopes containing a tannish brown substance believed to be Heroin and was placed under arrest without incident.

Further investigation revealed that the defendant removed currency and credit cards from multiple autos and was responsible for a stolen vehicle which occurred on the following dates:

7/27/2020 – Lynbrook-Evergreen Avenue-2016 Dodge Van-items removed

7/27/2020 – Lynbrook-Surrey Commons-2014 Toyota Rav-4-items removed

7/27/2020 – Lynbrook-Peninsula Boulevard-2000 Honda Accord-stolen-items removed

8/3/2020 – Hewlett Bay Park-Meadowview Road-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee-stolen

8/3/2020 – Hewlett-Crystal Court-2018 Range Rover-items removed

8/8/2020 – Hewlett-Franklin Avenue-2019 Kia Sorrento-items removed

8/8/2020 – Hewlett-Franklin Avenue-2100 Toyota Pick Up-items removed

The defendant, Darion Torres, is charged with 1 count of Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, 7 counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, 1 count of Attempted Grand Larceny 4th Degree, 1 count of Unauthorized use of a Vehicle, 8 counts of Petit Larceny, 1 count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, 6 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen property 7th degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument.

He was arraigned on Sunday, August 09, 2020 in First District Court.
