Executive Curran Update: Vaccines, Nassau Indoor Dining Week, Weather & More

1

Executive Curran just held a media briefing with updates on COVID-19, school sports, weather, and the County’s new campaign to encourage local/NYC residents to support Nassau restaurants during LI Restaurant Week:

APPOINTMENT UPDATE, 1/19/21:
Due to a smaller allotment of vaccines received, all appointments at the Department of Health vaccination sites are fully booked for the remainder of the week and we do not anticipate any further appointments will be added until next week. Please check back next week for available appointments.

VACCINE SUPPLY UPDATE:
The Federal Government determines how much vaccine New York State receives, affecting the County’s supply. Nassau County has used 100% of the doses allocated to us and will continue to use every dose as additional supply comes in.

In addition to vaccination centers run by the County’s Department of Health, listed below, vaccines are available at New York State sites which can be accessed through the “Am I Eligible” app.

An appointment is required to be vaccinated at any Department of Health or NYS vaccination center.

SECOND COVID DOSE INFORMATION:
***Nassau County will be contacting all residents who receive their first COVID-19 vaccine dose at a Department of Health site with information on their second dose approximately one week before the scheduled appointment.  Please be on alert for a phone call or email from Nassau County***
