BARUCH DAYEN EMES: Two Gedolei Hador Niftar, Rav Dovid Soloveitchik ZT”L & Rav Yitzchak Scheiner ZT”L

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the petira of Hagaon Harav Dovid Soloveitchik ZT”L, the Rosh Yeshiva Brisk.

Rav Meshulam Dovid Soloveitchik was the fifth of twelve children and the third son born to Rav Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik ZT”L in the earli 1920’s. The Rosh Yeshiva was considered by Briskers to be one of the last authentic remnants of the pre-World War II Lithuanian Torah world, and is often quoted for his memories of his father’s and grandfather’s illuminating teachings. The Rav was 99 years old.

Additionally, it is with great sadness that we inform you of the petira of Hagaon Harav Yitzchak Scheiner ZT”L, Rosh Yeshiva Kaminetz.

The Rav was born in the United States to American immigrants from Poland. During the 1940s, he studied at Yeshiva College (Yeshivas Rabbenu Yitzchok Elchonon) and at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas under Rabbi Shlomo Heiman. Toward the end of the 1940s, he married a granddaughter of Rabbi Boruch Ber. The Rav was 98.

Both were niftar from contracting COVID.
