“Recall Gavin 2020,” a group working to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom, says they now have gathered more than the 1.5 million signatures needed for a ballot proposal to remove him from office.
The signatures need to be verified, and once that happens, the recall election against the Democrat governor could happen sometime this summer, reports ABC affiliate KGTV in San Diego.
Interest in recalling Newsom is higher after reports that he had dined with friends at an expensive restaurant while he was telling California residents to stay at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, recall advisor Randy Economy said.
