The Nassau County Police Commissioner explained that a man was shot in the back of his leg in a popular shoe store. The mall was immediately placed on lock down as police stormed the scene. Terrified shoppers were asked to remain in place.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening conditions.
At this time the suspect (possibly multiple shooters) remains at large, as the man hunt continues.

Nassau County Police are on scene at the Green Acres Mall Old Navy store for a confirmed shooting. A male shot in the leg. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9″, wearing blue jeans. Units are
searching the mall now. Green Acres Mall is on complete lockdown.
