On Friday night, April 1, at approximately 11:30 PM, the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department was alerted to an overturned vehicle with extrication requested in front of 360 Central Ave, just feet from the firehouse. The incident took place right in front of Chosen Island.
Multiple fire department units and ambulances responded and began extricating the driver from the vehicle. Nassau County police and Auxiliary police were on hand for additional support. The driver of the vehicle was transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local area hospital.
The scene was under investigation of the NCPD and was under the command of Deputy Chief Beilinson. The driver was listed as DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) and thankfully no bystanders were injured in the accident.
