Democratic congressman Jerrold Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said it was clear that some of the Hasidic schools were “utterly failing.”
“It is a paramount duty of government to make sure that all children — whether it’s those educated in parochial, private or public schools — are provided a quality education,” said Mr. Nadler, who praised his very own yeshiva education. “It is our duty to all New York students to ensure that the law is enforced.”
