Pres. Biden Will Not be Welcoming PM Netanyahu “Anytime Soon”

President Joe Biden says he won’t be inviting Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to the White House “anytime soon” over his plan to move forward with a judicial overhaul after mass protests and strikes brought the country to a pause.

“Like many strong supporters of Israel, I’m very concerned,” Biden told reporters in North Carolina on Wednesday. “I’m concerned that they get this straight.

“They cannot continue down this road. I’ve made that clear. Hopefully, the prime minister will act in a way that he can work out some genuine compromise. That remains to be seen.”

When asked whether Netanyahu would be invited to the White House, the president said, “No. Not in the near term.”

Senator Ted Cruz, a staunch supporter of Israel, called the Biden comments “Utterly disgraceful”. “Biden gleefully hosts anti-American radicals like Lula, while shunning close American allies like Netanyahu” continued Cruz.

“It’s clear that Biden and his officials are high from funding what they believe to be successful anti-government protests in Israel” he concluded.

PM Netanyahu had this to say in response: “I have known President Biden for over 40 years, and I appreciate his longstanding commitment to Israel. The alliance between Israel and the United States is unbreakable and always overcomes our occasional disagreements.

My administration is committed to strengthening democracy by restoring the proper balance between the three branches of government, which we are striving to achieve via a broad consensus. Israel is a sovereign country which makes its decisions by the will of its people and not based on pressures from abroad, including from the best of friends.”

In the meantime, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced he will Jerusalem next month. “At a time of unnecessarily strained relations between Jerusalem and Washington, Florida serves as a bridge between the American and Israeli people,” DeSantis told the Jerusalem Post.

  1. Biden is a disgrace!!! Same with his corrupt minions Kathy Hochul, Chuck Schumer and Gillibrand who only pretend to care about us when they need our votes!!

  2. I live in yerushalayim and wanted to comment . In the states judges in the supreme court are not elected by sitting supreme court judges they nominated by the president and then have to be approved by the senate so what is the big deal about israel giving power to the kenesset members to vote in new supreme court judges?

  3. The issue Ira is that judicial reform will strip away the power of judicial review from the courts. For instance in America when Cuomo shut down the shuls during COVID the Supreme Court ruled that law unconstitutional. Even though the law was legally passed the court said it violated basic rights. Israel wants to prohibit its courts from doing just that. And it’s shameful.
