Yeshiva of South Shore Celebrates Their New Building

Yeshiva of South Shore – Yeshiva Toras Chaim Bais Binyamin celebrated a momentous milestone this week with their move into the new Friedman Family Building. This historic day was marked by a major celebration, seamlessly blending the joy of learning with the new era of Torah in a brand-new building.

It was only 26 months ago that the bulldozers demolished the old yeshiva building built in 1956, to make way for a state-of-the-art facility. The Friedman Family building will house grades 1-5 in 23 classrooms, with new executive and educational offices suites, a library, and a resource and enrichment center wing.

The actual move was unique, as the yeshiva maintained a regular learning schedule. The boys arrived as usual and started the day of learning in their old classrooms. In the middle of the morning, each class marched and danced their way next door, amid Simchas-Torah-like music and dancing straight into their new set-up classrooms, and continued learning until lunchtime! The celebration continued at noon when parents and local Rabbonim joined the entire yeshiva, including the talmidim in the Silber Mechina Toras Avraham for a grand celebration of more dancing on the yeshiva campus.

The Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Mordechai Kamenetzky, extended his heartfelt appreciation on behalf of the Hanhalla and talmidim to everyone involved in this project – honoring the legacy of the founding Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Binyamin Kamenetzky, zt”l. The celebration was not just about the physical move to a new facility but also a reaffirmation of YOSS’s commitment to infusing children with a love for Torah and providing the best atmosphere in which to accomplish that.

This move into the Friedman Family Building represents a new chapter in YOSS’s history, promising limitless possibilities for future generations.
