Early Thursday morning, Pakistan carried out several airstrikes inside Iranian territory. This was after Iranian airstrikes occurred in Pakistan on Tuesday. Iran announces that 7 ppl were killed in the missile strike by the Pakistani Army near the Iranian city of Saravan.
Both countries released statements saying the strikes were only to target their own rebellious citizens within the other country. Pakistan’s foreign ministry stated, “This action is a manifestation of Pakistan’s unflinching resolve to protect and defend its national security against all threats.”
Iran is in the midst of indirect fighting against Israel and is exerting control over the neighboring areas, including conducting small airstrikes in Iraq and Syria. Despite the strike action within other countries’ borders, Iran remains close allies with them.
“Iran is a brotherly country,” said Pakistan’s foreign ministry. “We have always emphasized dialogue and cooperation in confronting common challenges including the menace of terrorism and will continue to endeavor to find joint solutions.”
Pakistan becomes the first country to send its fighter jets and bomb Iran after October 7th.
