A barrage of at least 30 rockets was fired from Lebanon at the northern city of Kiryat Shmona. The attack prompted the Iron Dome defense system to intercept some of the incoming rockets, as captured in footage released by authorities.

Police in Kiryat Shmona reported handling several sites of rocket impacts, resulting in significant property damage. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the barrage, stating it targeted the city and a nearby army base with “dozens of rockets” in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike overnight in southern Lebanon’s Habbariyeh, which reportedly killed seven people. The IDF had earlier announced it was targeting terror operatives in the strike.

Amid the chaos, one person was rescued from a building struck by a Hezbollah rocket in Kiryat Shmona and is currently receiving treatment from medics, according to rescue authorities. Additionally, the Fire and Rescue Services are working to extinguish a fire at a structure in Kiryat Shmona’s industrial zone, which sustained a direct hit from a rocket.

Tragically, Magen David Adom confirmed the tragic death of a 25-year-old man, identified as Zahar Bashara HY”D, from the Druze town of Ein Qiniyye, who was pulled from the rubble of the industrial zone building. Despite efforts by rescue workers, the victim was declared dead at the scene. Another man in his 30s was successfully rescued from the damaged structure unharmed.
