The gala banquet of the 39th annual International Conference of Chabad Emissaries (Kinus Hashluchim), NY area’s largest sit-down dinner with 6,500 rabbis and guests from more than 100 countries, will broadcast live on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. ET. Emissaries (Kinus Hashluchim) visited the Ohel in Queens, N.Y., the resting place of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory. Having traveled to New York from throughout the United States and nearly every part of the world, the rabbis delivered handwritten letters, notes and requests for blessings on behalf of their families and communities back home.
Arriving in New York from the four corners of the earth in a Hakhel year devoted to gatherings large and small, 6,500 Chabad-Lubavitch shluchim (“emissaries”), and their guests from all 50 states and more than 100 nations and territories around the world are immersed this week in workshops, special events and personal encounters at the annual International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries (Kinus Hashluchim). The nearly week-long event gives most of Chabad’s 5,646 rabbis the opportunity to meet with friends and colleagues who they have not seen for years. They are also welcoming hundreds of young rabbis who have joined their ranks over the past year, including those from the 120 new Chabads established in the past 12 months, on average one every three days.
Thirty-six expertly trained scribes, most of them Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries themselves, each armed with a feather quill and a small pot of ink, will simultaneously complete a record 36 new Torah scrolls being written for Jewish communities around the world that do not yet have a scroll of their own. This will take place in the presence of 6,500 rabbis and guests at the concluding banquet of the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries (Kinus Hashluchim) that will be live-streamed on Sunday evening, Nov. 20.
