Become a COVID-19 Serum Donor

Dr. Glatt has asked to distribute this notice:

Dear Community Members,

Mount Sinai – Five Town (Hewlett) can now test convalescing patients to see if they have antibodies to Covid-19 and would potentially be capable of being a Serum Donor to treat a sick COVID patient!

The Mount Sinai Health System has initiated a procedure known as plasmapheresis. Antibodies from patients who have recovered from COVID-19 can be transferred to critically ill patients to help them fight the disease.

This process was used successfully in China, according to a state-owned organization, with some patients improving within 24 hours.

If you had COVID-19, your blood may contain these antibodies.

Mount Sinai is seeking volunteer donors from the Five Towns

and surrounding areas to have their blood tested.

Criteria to Volunteer:
You tested positive 21 days or more ago
You have been symptom free

(no fever, shortness of breath, chills, cough or sore throat) for 14 days

If the answer is yes to both, you may be a prospective donor. Please click on the link below and fill out the information to become a volunteer:

Once you complete the information on the website, you will be called to schedule a time for a blood draw at Mount Sinai Doctors Five Towns located at

1436 Broadway in Hewlett, New York.

Thank you
